With over 20 years’ experience in horticulture, Guy joins us from the wonderful no-dig vegetable garden at Sissinghurst Castle where he has incorporated the vegetable garden into the wider Sissinghurst estate, improving its visibility to visitors and restaurant diners as well as teaching and encouraging his love of horticulture to Volunteers
“I have spent many years working in established gardens, and I am thrilled to join Hands of Hope during such an exciting time in the charity’s journey. The prospect of restoring and developing the Walled Kitchen Garden, as well as supporting 1000’s of potential new growers through the delivery of our community programme Get Growing, is hugely exciting. I am also looking forward to working closely with Hands of Hope’s dedicated Volunteers to grow, harvest and distribute fresh, in- season, organic produce to local food banks and community support groups, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to eat well and that everyone knows where their food comes from.”
Guy will be launching his monthly “Grow Blog” beginning in March, combining sowing and growing tips along with fun anecdotes of the month’s escapades!
We are very much looking forward to working with Guy and welcoming back our amazing Volunteers, who have all shown great commitment since joining The Walled Kitchen Garden Community Hub – together with James, Sosi and I, we are sure to have another successful year.
