Helping Hands Lunch Clubs
Rural areas have a unique set of circumstances that can exacerbate the social isolation felt by older residents leading to poor health, loss of independence and lower quality of life.
HOH lunch clubs will bring older people together to enjoy a hot nutritious meal and socialise with friends at the same time.

Working in Partnership:

The Benefits:
- Mental and physical stimulation
- Maintaining independence
- Reduced isolation and loneliness
- Make new friends
- Improved health & nutrition
- Re-acquaint with old friends
HOH are currently involved with Northiam Seniors Club who deliver a weekly Lunch Club to its members and we will look to identify communities that don’t currently have a Lunch Club and whose residents are keen to have a Lunch Club in their area.
Once identified, we will source suitable venues (village hall, community centre), publicise via the Parish Council and recruit volunteers. We will also reach out to partners where funding may be available such as Age UK, Sussex Community Trust or RVA.
