We are currently looking for a part-time Volunteer Co-ordinator who can help us make a difference in our local communities.
You will be a proactive, outgoing, and organised person with a passion for Volunteering and a desire to create a “best in class” Volunteer experience.

WELCOMING DEBORAH NICHOLLS & CATY PALMER TO THE HANDS OF HOPE TEAM.

We are excited to welcome Deborah Nicholls and Caty Palmer who join the Hands of Hope team.
Deborah joins us from her tenure at TCV and Groundworks Southeast to take up the newly created role of Heritage and Horticulture Delivery Lead – responsible for educating communities in heritage rural skills as well as providing opportunities for people to connect to horticulture and nature as well as providing opportunities to improve physical and mental health. She will manage our core community projects including Get Growing, Men in Sheds, Bee in Company and Crafty Shedders as well as setting up a training module in heritage rural crafts during 2022.
Caty has joined us from Surrey Docks Farm, and in her new roles as Horticulture and Countryside Management Assistant will support Guy Pullen, our Head Grower, in extending our growing capacity during 2022 as well as making sure the site is managed and maintained using traditional methods.
We are excited to welcome both Deborah and Caty during this very exciting time for Hands of Hope.
THE VEGAN REVIEW FEATURE ON HANDS OF HOPE

"A new vegetable box by Hands of Hope aims to tackle food poverty and rural isolation in East Sussex.
"This spring has been cooler, but the Hands of Hope charity has prepared a scheme to deliver food boxes to residents in East Sussex. Launched on July 1, Hope Farm Organic will have courgettes, broad beans, tomatoes, peas, beetroots, pointed cabbage and cucumbers — a very summery box."
NATIONAL FOOD STRATEGY PLAN PUBLISHED

The National Food Strategy Plan was published today with key recommendations including:
An end to food insecurity - everyone has a fundamental right to healthy, affordable and nutritious food.
A food environment that is conducive to good health - in most cases our food environment is obesogenic, and we need to take strong, joined-up action to change this.
A food system that produces food that is both good for human health, and the health of the planet.

1st July 2021 sees the launch of a new veg box scheme ‘Hope Farm Organics’, run by Hands of Hope Charity. The scheme delivers fresh fruit, veg and honey grown at Hope Farm in Peasmarsh, and at Hope Farm Garden in Hawkhurst. Customers can add eggs, diary, meat, and pantry products from local artisan suppliers.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR GET GROWING’S FOOD GROWING REVOLUTION!

Spring is springing, and a project to share Nature’s bounty is putting up shoots across Rother, Hastings and West Kent. Hands of Hope Charity’s ‘Get Growing’ project gives people kits to grow their own food in whatever space they have, from a windowsill to an allotment.
