We’re committed to keeping the details that you share with us as safe as possible and used appropriately. We have created this Hands of Hope Privacy Notice (together with our Terms and Conditions and Data Protection Policy) in line with the requirements set out by the General Data Protection Regulation.

This notice sets out the basis on which any personal data that we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us, making it clear what information we collect from you and how we use it. Our supporters are important to us and we want you to feel confident and comfortable that your information will be looked after.

Who Are We?

Hands of Hope was set up in July 2016 to combat childhood obesity and isolation and loneliness in older people. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under number ZA331761 and a registered charity under number 1168016.

How do we collect information from you?

We obtain information about you when you use our website, make a donation, sign up to one of our events, make contact directly or through our social media profiles and if we meet you out in the community.

What type of information is collected from you?

The personal information we collect might include your name, address, email address, IP address, and information regarding what pages are accessed and when.

How is your information used?

We may use your information to:

  • process a donation that you have made;
  • dealing with entries into a competition;
  • seek your views or comments on the services we provide;
  • notify you of changes to our services;
  • send you communications which you have requested and that may be of interest to you. These may include information about campaigns, appeals, other fundraising activities, events and news;
  • process a grant or job application.

We have put in place the following security procedures and technical and organisational measures to safeguard your personal information: the website server is firewalled and passwords are used to protect personal data.

However, you should be aware that the use of the Internet is not entirely secure and for this reason we cannot guarantee the security or integrity of any personal information which is transferred from you or to you via the Internet.

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy, please send an email to info@hohcharity.co.uk or send a letter to the address below. We may make a small charge for this service.

Use of ‘cookies’
