Vote for us – Tesco, Hawkhurst

Hands of Hope is delighted to announce it has been selected to take part in the Tesco Stronger Starts programme, giving the local community the chance to help the charity secure up to £1,500 in funding.

The funding will support Hands of Hope’s much-loved Grow, Cook, Care, Share programme, which has been running over the past year. The initiative brings together children, young people, families and schools to take part in hands-on activities focused on growing food, cooking nutritious meals, and improving physical and mental wellbeing.

With a strong focus on tackling food poverty and building practical life skills, all workshops are offered completely free of charge, ensuring they are accessible to those who need them most.

Alongside the workshops, Hands of Hope continues to make a wider impact in the community. The charity supports a team of dedicated garden volunteers, provides valuable work experience opportunities for young people, and has donated over a tonne of fresh produce to local food banks over the past year.

The Tesco scheme allows shoppers to vote for local causes using tokens received at checkout. From 28th April to the end of July, customers shopping at the Tesco store in Hawkhurst can support Hands of Hope by placing their token in the charity’s voting box.

A spokesperson for Hands of Hope said:
“We’re incredibly grateful to be part of this programme. The support from our local community means everything to us, and this funding will help us continue providing free workshops and extend the wider support we offer across the community.”

Hands of Hope is encouraging everyone in the local area to get involved and cast their vote while shopping.

Every token counts, and every vote will help the charity continue its vital work supporting healthier, more connected communities.
