Our From Soil to Seed gardening workshop series has been blooming with success this season, with participants praising the accessible, informative sessions and welcoming atmosphere.

I love your easy presentation style, interesting and so informative,” shared one recent attendee, capturing the spirit of what we’re trying to achieve, making gardening knowledge accessible to everyone, regardless of experience or background. The workshops have attracted a wonderful mix of complete beginners taking their first steps into growing, curious gardeners wanting to expand their skills, and more seasoned growers looking to deepen their knowledge. What unites everyone is the supportive, friendly environment where questions are encouraged and everyone learns together.

Each workshop combines expert horticultural instruction with hands-on practice or inspiring classroom sessions (complete with tea and biscuits!). Whether you’re learning in our working greenhouse, planning designs in the classroom, or getting hands-on in the garden, you’ll leave with practical knowledge, take-home resources, and newfound confidence.

A special welcome for vulnerable groups

While our workshops are open to everyone, we particularly want to reach out to people from vulnerable groups who might benefit from learning new skills, connecting with nature, and finding community in a supportive environment.
Whether you’re facing food poverty, managing physical or mental health challenges, experiencing unemployment or social isolation, or simply feeling disconnected and looking for something positive—these workshops are for you. Gardening offers so much more than growing plants: it’s about building confidence, learning valuable skills, connecting with others, and finding peace in working with nature.

All workshops are completely free, welcoming to all abilities, and delivered in small, friendly groups where everyone feels comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. No prior experience is necessary, and no question is too basic, we’re here to support your gardening journey, whatever stage you’re at.
