HANDS OF HOPE

Enabling people and communities to lead healthier and happier lives by connecting them to nature and each other

Our Journey

Hands of Hope is a registered charity 1168016 initially set up in July 2016 by the current Trustees and still run by them.

At the time, our aim was based on a simple premise to use growing & cooking to deliver projects that could help tackle food poverty, rural isolation and loneliness.

After spending 3 years researching, collaborating, consulting, volunteering and engaging with diverse communities throughout Rother, Hastings and West Kent and taking into account current themes important to these communities, we now recognise the current threat to our natural landscape and community heritage and how, through neglect, degradation and the passing of time, physical and historical assets are disappearing forever – causing a lasting impact.

Combining our initial aims with a revised strategy to incorporate the relationship between people, place and nature, we now deliver inclusive projects from our walled kitchen garden site where communities come to learn about their past, improve their present and through education and experience, change their futures.
