What is foraging?

Foraging is simply gathering weeds and wild berries, nuts or mushrooms to eat! Foraging fosters a deep connection with the natural world allowing you to experience the thrill of finding and harvesting your own food whilst reconnecting with your ancestral roots and embracing sustainable food practices.

What will we learn?

We are going to learn to identify a few safe and tasty wild growing plants. We will harvest a few of each and then either eat them raw or cook them up into a tasty soup to eat together.

You will:

  • Learn how to identify edible plants growing here and now by exploring the land and woodland
  • Harvest a selection of whatever is available on the day
  • Complete a mini challenge
  • Learn how to prepare and cook a foraged soup – or eat your harvest raw.
