Festive Family Fun Day brings Christmas magic to Hands of Hope
Over 25 families and more than 50 children joined us on Sunday 14th December for our inaugural Festive Family Fun Day, and what a magical morning it was!
Families explored our beautiful farm throughout the morning, with children rotating through four festive activity stations – kids yoga, salt dough decorations, hand-knitted garlands, and wooden ornaments. Each child collected stamps on their activity sheet as they progressed, leaving with bags full of handmade Christmas decorations and special take-home gifts.
While the children enjoyed their yoga session in the Garden Room, parents relaxed in the Victorian Greenhouse with mulled cider, mulled apple juice, and gingerbread mince pies – a well-deserved festive treat! The feedback from families has been wonderful.
One parent told us: “Such an amazing event! Thank you for all the hard work that went into planning. Me and my kids had a really lovely morning.“
Another shared: “My son had a lovely time, he was absolutely enamoured with that man helping him make the bird feeder, ‘GRANDAD!’ apparently.”
The event was completely free and designed to bring festive joy to local families, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Watching children create lasting Christmas memories while learning new skills is exactly why we do what we do at Hands of Hope.
A huge thank you to all our volunteers and activity leaders who made the day such a success, and to every family who joined us for this special morning.
