🌱 We're growing our team at Hands of Hope 🌱

It’s an exciting time for Hands of Hope as we begin the next stage of our journey at Hope Farm Community Garden in Hawkhurst.

With significant funding secured through The National Lottery Community Fund – Reaching Communities and The National Lottery Heritage Fund, we are expanding our team to deliver the Hope Farm Initiative, our ambitious Dig for Victory – Stories, Skills and Sustainable Food Heritage programme, and the next phase of our organisation’s development.

We will be recruiting 8 new roles over the coming months, starting with:

Project Operational Lead – Hope Farm Initiative

The Project Operational Lead will provide overall operational and strategic management for the Hope Farm Initiative, bringing together the Reaching Communities programme, Dig for Victory and the wider charitable, site and income-generating activities of Hands of Hope.
  • 4-year grant-funded contract (Reaching Communities, National Lottery Funding), with potential for a full-time, permanent position.
  • Part-time - 0.4 FTE / 2-days per week
  • Base salary £37,440 FTE (£14,976 at 0.4 FTE), plus a performance-related bonus linked to agreed commercial income and partnership targets, with OTE £50,000 per annum (FTE)

Heritage Community & Education Lead – Dig for Victory

The Heritage Community & Education Lead is the Project Lead for Dig for Victory – Stories, Skills and Sustainable Food Heritage. The post-holder will own the day-to-day planning, coordination, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the heritage programme.
  • 3-year National Lottery Heritage Fund project, fixed term
  • Part-time - 0.6 FTE / 22.5 hours per week, flexible and seasonally adjusted
  • £30,900 FTE; £18,540 per annum at 0.6 FTE
  • Hope Farm Community Garden, Hawkhurst, plus some travel throughout Rother, Hastings and West Kent to support outreach sites

Centre Administrator & Volunteer Coordinator

The Centre Administrator and Volunteer Coordinator will provide a welcoming, organised and professional first point of contact for Hands of Hope, ensuring the smooth day-to-day administration and coordination of the Community Garden and wider site.
  • 4-year grant-funded fixed-term contract, with potential for a longer-term role subject to sustainability.
  • 0.4 FTE / 15 hours per week; normal pattern expected to be approximately 3 hours per day, Monday-Friday
  • £26,000 FTE; pro-rata at 0.4 FTE, £10,400 per annum
  • Hope Farm Community Garden, Hawkhurst - primarily site-based

Horticulture & Estates Apprentice – Level 5

The Horticulture & Estates Apprentice will work as part of the Hands of Hope horticulture and estates team, gaining practical skills and experience in organic horticulture, heritage kitchen gardening, sustainable land management and countryside maintenance.
  • 4-year fixed-term grant-funded contract (Reaching Communities & Heritage Lottery Funding), with potential for a full-time, permanent position.
